Connection starts with a small moment. Make time for someone you care about — and for yourself.
Share a conversation with a friend, neighbour or someone in your whānau.
Try something you enjoy: gentle movement, learning something new or a moment to notice your surroundings.
If you are finding things difficult, talk with someone you trust or your healthcare team.
November · Diabetes Action Month
Questions about diabetes? Start a conversation about your risk, your care and the support that works for you.
Ask your GP or nurse about diabetes risk and whether a check is appropriate for you.
If you live with diabetes, talk with your care team about your next review and any support you need.
Explore Diabetes New Zealand’s resources and share them with your whānau.
September–April · Sun protection
Enjoy our coast and outdoor spaces with sun protection for you and your whānau.
Use shade and covering clothing, especially between 10am and 4pm from September to April.
Add a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses and broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
Reapply sunscreen every two hours and after swimming or sweating. Sunscreen works alongside shade and clothing.
